2014

The year 2013 was full of different kind of life events. I get married, I lost a friend. I met lots of new interesting people and maybe became little bit better version of myself.

Even thought I'm not sure if it is possible to become a better version of yourself. We are already perfect human beings, we just need peace inside of us to be what we are. We should not judge ourselves. The hard part is just to find that peace to be what you are. And being kind to yourself. 

My personal New year resolutions are first to be nicer to myself and be able to forgive myself.There is no need to be too hard on yourself. Then you just make your own life harder. And believe me, you will not make anyone happy when you are too hard on yourself. So don't even try to say it will.

Also I want to focus more on sewing, knitting and other crafting things. Hopefully my skills will grow.

Exercise more. No excusis! 

Love more. Show to other people that you care of them. 

Traveling at least one time outside of Finland. This one seems to get done right in January, because we will travel for a small trip to Tallinn. I'm quite excited about it.

I think that's all or at least most important ones.

Cozy And Cute

I'm writing this post while I'm sitting in the light of beautiful candles, drinking hot chocolate, eating myself made pumpkin pie and listening Christmas songs. I must say it feels quite cozy.

Here is a pic of wool socks. I saw this pic in one book and I don't know why, but there is something I like in these wool socks, so I took a picture and decided that I will make something like this.

Here is my work at the process of making it. Look I made a bow in my own version! 

Here my socks are already finished. It took couple days to make these.

Bow! <3 For some reason I really love bows.

And here I am wearing my new cozy and cute wool socks. I bet I will totally use these a lot this winter.

This weeks item are these lovely Minna Parikka Caracal shoes. These could be my next investment. Even they are quite expensive. But oh, how much I do love these cute pair of shoes.

Hot for a teacher

This is a geometric teaching skirt. If you are a teacher (like I am), you can wear this skirt when you are teaching kids different shapes. You can find here at least square, triangle and rectangle. You can also practice different colors. 

Skirt is made by me. And fabric is from Marimekko.

These pics are from earlier time of this autumn. Well, now it's almost a winter already. This day in pics were so nice sunny autumn day. I love all those colorful leaves on the trees and on the ground. Dress in the pictures is myself made black autumn dress with buttons on the back of dress.

I'm very pleased how this dress turned out. Even thought I had and still have little problem with buttons of  this dress. I was only able to found plastic make yourself buttons. But I would want to have metallic buttons. They would last much better than plastic ones.

This little girl is my beloved photographer. I think she is doing quite nice job with these pics.

And point of this pic is just that I would want to have a scooter. How cool it would be to just scoot around? Well maybe next spring.

Item of the week

Oh my time has flied again. It's already almost Christmas. And I have not write in ages again. Even thought this blog is lots in my mind. I have been doing like hundreds different crafting projects. And I would love to share those with you people. Some how autumn is most creative time for me. Probably because we have long dark evening time to craft. This year I have been also doing quite many self made Christmas presents too.

Marimekko SS2014

After seeing this video of Marimekko's Spring and Summer collection 2014, I can only say that I LOVE Marimekko. That is all for this Sunday. Oh, but something exciting happened this morning. Finnish fashion designer Paola Suhonen was selling at Hietaniemi. Hietaniemi is a flea market in Helsinki downtown. I bought her old dress and some cute piece of vintage fabric, which I bye the way love too.

Swimming

Today I was swimming. In the sea. Water was 19 degrees, but it felt warm. Now is last days for swimming. Or last days for swimming in Finland.

 

Hope you all have nice last days of warm summer. Oh and I have something very nice on my sewing table at the moment. I'm super excited. Maybe I show it sometime here. 

 

Holding hands and feeding ducks

Lately there have been silent here. It is just because I have been so busy and little stressed too. All these life changes and everything. Have been running in the offices and taking care of offical things. And I' m moving very soon so packing had take quite much time. 

Luckily I have had some time to enjoy about summer and sometime for my sewing and knitting things. Maybe biggest change in my life is that my boyfriend moved to Finland with me and we get married on 1st of July. But I'm happy.

Kitty tights

Some time ago I found lovely kitty tights on the Internet. I thought they were so cute, but I really didn't want to order those either. So then I figured out that maybe I could try to do these yourself. And I think these turned out quite nice. So now I have my own kitty tights and I'm so happy about it. 

Sweet Zooey

Zooey is so sweet and awesome. If I would be a guy I would so marry her. Now I just adore her beautiful dresses. And also her beautiful hair. I love her bangs.

Summer dress and cold

Here is a picture of one summer dress I ordered from this Etsy store. It is so cute dress and I love it a lot. I think it will come one of my favorite dresses for summer. I have been also sick this weekend and I am still sick. It is little bit depressing to be sick while there is such a beautiful weather outside, but it will be ok. 

I also saw these beautiful flowers. And went to couple yard sales last weekend. And I found couple awesome chairs which are 100 years old for 5 euros each. I think that was very good deal. Now I just hope that I will get better soon. 

Cherry blossom

There is this park full of cherry trees near my parents place. It is so beautiful when the cherry trees are in full blossom.

Today I had on this dress, I have made myself. There is a heart cut on the back. I think it is quite cute.

I did to my little sister cherry blossom hairdo. It's beautiful or she is beautiful. 

So I had quite lovely day today. In the morning I was spending time at the flea market in Arabia. Not in that country. Arabia is a place in Helsinki.  I did find couple nice things there. My favorite is this small heart shaped bag. It is cute. 

Bless this mess

I was practicing embroidery and this is how it turned up.

A pillow. I think that the text on the pillow is so true. It is little mess and there are a bit everything. But In think it still turned out quite nice. The fabric which I used in this pillow is really a dress I bought from flea market. I loved the fabric, but the dress didn't really fit me that well. So I figured that I can use that dress for something else. 

And sorry for that lousy pic, but there was not any light left and I was so excited that I wanted to take a picture right away.

This hat is from dear creatures. It is just so cute.

Cat shoes from Charlotte Olympia. So cute. But so expensive too. I couldn't afford these. So I can only dream about them. 

And last but not least these adorable kitty tights. I could so wear these.

Sunny spring day

Hi! This is my new blog. I'm 24 years old girl from Finland. I guess I'm writing mostly about my own style and cloths, but also about my craft projects. I love sewing and almost everything what you can do with your hands. I also love flea markets and recycling. Recycling are fun. I think people should do it more. And to that I am counting myself too. I think we all should think more sustainable development. I'm not saying I'm perfect on that, but I am on my way to become a better consumer. That is why I want to favor cloths from flea market, cloths I have made myself or cloths I have bought from smaller labels all over the world. That is why etsy.com really are one of my favorite places to shop now days. Ps. I love colorful cloths and cute patterns.

Here is picture of me where I am wearing a dress which I finished this Friday. I think it is quite cute. It is made of someones old sheets. And some old lace from someones old tablecloth. So this dress is quite recycled. The pattern are little vintage inspired too.

So I try to write here every once a while about things I am interested of. Mostly I think I am writing to myself, but anyone who wants can follow me.
