Hey. It is quite long time again since I updated anything here. But for some reason time flies so fast. Here is one of my sewing project which I have done since last time. There are many more too, but I try to show them later to you. Also I have found so many super cool fabrics from flea markets. I can't wait to start working with those fabrics. I have so many plans.

Here is my dress from front. I found this fabric from flea market too. It was like two euros and it is from Tampella. Old Finnish design.

And here it is from back. I love this nautical print this fabric has.

Say it with flowers

Hi! It have been too long time again. But now I made some weeks ago something I totally love and I want to show it for you guys too. I have made lots of other things I want to show too, but let's just start with this lovely shirt.

Fabric I used is from Marimekko. Name of this fabric is "Puketti". I love those small flowers and I love that dark blue and yellow color combination too. I think it is just lovely.

Hanging out in Ateneum. And I love that back and buttons there.

This shirt makes me smile every time I wear it.

So this was it for now. I hope I get back here more faster next time. In future I should have more time for writing here, because my husband is moving in China for 12 months. Then I have more time for everything I like to do.

I'm so excited!

Hi! We were at Tallinn couple weeks ago. I really liked how that old Tallinn looked like. And it was so nice to have small trip. I have a huge want to travel more. But... well.. Maybe later this year.

This new skirt and shirt I am super excited. I made them myself while I had my Christmas holidays! I'm just so proud of myself. And also I just love that fabric too.

This weekend I am excited about couple new sewing books I ordered from Amazon.uk. I just got them and many patterns looks worth trying out. Here is one weird face picture of me, just because I feel like it.

Fox Skirt

I made this skirt for my little sister as a Christmas present. I know these pics are quite bad, but I didn't have so much light when it was Christmas eve. I try to take some day better photos where she is wearing this skirt. I'm glad how this skirt turned out. Fox is embroidered, even thought you really can't see that so well in this pic.

Oh, and this fabric is from Marimekko.

2014

The year 2013 was full of different kind of life events. I get married, I lost a friend. I met lots of new interesting people and maybe became little bit better version of myself.

Even thought I'm not sure if it is possible to become a better version of yourself. We are already perfect human beings, we just need peace inside of us to be what we are. We should not judge ourselves. The hard part is just to find that peace to be what you are. And being kind to yourself. 

My personal New year resolutions are first to be nicer to myself and be able to forgive myself.There is no need to be too hard on yourself. Then you just make your own life harder. And believe me, you will not make anyone happy when you are too hard on yourself. So don't even try to say it will.

Also I want to focus more on sewing, knitting and other crafting things. Hopefully my skills will grow.

Exercise more. No excusis! 

Love more. Show to other people that you care of them. 

Traveling at least one time outside of Finland. This one seems to get done right in January, because we will travel for a small trip to Tallinn. I'm quite excited about it.

I think that's all or at least most important ones.

Cozy And Cute

I'm writing this post while I'm sitting in the light of beautiful candles, drinking hot chocolate, eating myself made pumpkin pie and listening Christmas songs. I must say it feels quite cozy.

Here is a pic of wool socks. I saw this pic in one book and I don't know why, but there is something I like in these wool socks, so I took a picture and decided that I will make something like this.

Here is my work at the process of making it. Look I made a bow in my own version! 

Here my socks are already finished. It took couple days to make these.

Bow! <3 For some reason I really love bows.

And here I am wearing my new cozy and cute wool socks. I bet I will totally use these a lot this winter.

Hot for a teacher

This is a geometric teaching skirt. If you are a teacher (like I am), you can wear this skirt when you are teaching kids different shapes. You can find here at least square, triangle and rectangle. You can also practice different colors.

These pics are from earlier time of this autumn. Well, now it's almost a winter already. This day in pics were so nice sunny autumn day. I love all those colorful leaves on the trees and on the ground. Dress in the pictures is myself made black autumn dress with buttons on the back of dress.

I'm very pleased how this dress turned out. Even thought I had and still have little problem with buttons of  this dress. I was only able to found plastic make yourself buttons. But I would want to have metallic buttons. They would last much better than plastic ones.

This little girl is my beloved photographer. I think she is doing quite nice job with these pics.

And point of this pic is just that I would want to have a scooter. How cool it would be to just scoot around? Well maybe next spring.

Item of the week

Oh my time has flied again. It's already almost Christmas. And I have not write in ages again. Even thought this blog is lots in my mind. I have been doing like hundreds different crafting projects. And I would love to share those with you people. Some how autumn is most creative time for me. Probably because we have long dark evening time to craft. This year I have been also doing quite many self made Christmas presents too.

Marimekko SS2014

After seeing this video of Marimekko's Spring and Summer collection 2014, I can only say that I LOVE Marimekko. That is all for this Sunday. Oh, but something exciting happened this morning. Finnish fashion designer Paola Suhonen was selling at Hietaniemi. Hietaniemi is a flea market in Helsinki downtown. I bought her old dress and some cute piece of vintage fabric, which I bye the way love too.

Swimming

Today I was swimming. In the sea. Water was 19 degrees, but it felt warm. Now is last days for swimming. Or last days for swimming in Finland.

 

Hope you all have nice last days of warm summer. Oh and I have something very nice on my sewing table at the moment. I'm super excited. Maybe I show it sometime here. 

 

Holding hands and feeding ducks

Lately there have been silent here. It is just because I have been so busy and little stressed too. All these life changes and everything. Have been running in the offices and taking care of offical things. And I' m moving very soon so packing had take quite much time. 

Luckily I have had some time to enjoy about summer and sometime for my sewing and knitting things. Maybe biggest change in my life is that my boyfriend moved to Finland with me and we get married on 1st of July. But I'm happy.

Kitty tights

Some time ago I found lovely kitty tights on the Internet. I thought they were so cute, but I really didn't want to order those either. So then I figured out that maybe I could try to do these yourself. And I think these turned out quite nice. So now I have my own kitty tights and I'm so happy about it.
